About Kids Camp at the Ephrata Recreation Center

 Our Kids Camp is open to children ages 4 through 12. 

 Children are placed into small, age-appropriate groups to support meaningful engagement, appropriate activities, and individualized attention throughout the day 

 Camp is based out of the Ephrata Recreation Center, with planned activities and outings scheduled throughout the week. 

• Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: Campers remain at the Recreation Center for structured activities, games, and enrichment.
   
• Wednesdays: The morning includes structured play and organized activities. After lunch, campers enjoy movie time, during which a snack is provided.
   
• Tuesdays and Thursdays: Campers visit the park in the morning and spend the afternoon swimming at the Ephrata Community Pool.

 Yes. Campers participate in one field trip each month during the summer. To help keep weekly camp pricing as affordable as possible, the cost of field trips is shared—the camp covers half of the admission cost, and families are responsible for the remaining half. Advance notice and permission slips will be provided. 

 Yes. Swimming takes place at the community pool and is supervised by camp staff in coordination with certified lifeguards on duty. 

Children must bring the following items:

• Every day: A packed lunch and a water bottle
   
• Swim days (Tuesdays & Thursdays): Swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen
   

Please note: Children must pack their own lunch each day.

 If weather conditions are unfavorable, outdoor activities may be adjusted or moved indoors to ensure camper safety while maintaining an engaging day. 

 To register, families may call or stop by the front desk of the Ephrata Recreation Center to complete registration and pay the required deposit. 

 Weekly camp tuition will not be charged until the Wednesday prior to your child’s scheduled week of attendance. 

 Pool access is not automatically included with camp registration. We do offer a discounted daily rate for families who do not have a pool membership. Pool memberships are sold separately by the borough and may be purchased at the Ephrata Recreation Center.

For families who do not purchase a membership, $6 cash must be provided at drop-off on swim days. If swimming is canceled due to rain, the cash payment will be returned. If the pool closes early due to weather, campers will receive a weather pass, which may be used to cover their pool cost on the next scheduled swim day.
